WCVM DIVERSE and WCVM’s Committee on Indigenous Engagement have an exciting virtual talk planned on March 16th at 6pm.
Our discussion, “Indigenous Animal Welfare: Understanding the Rez Dog,” will feature guest speakers Dr. Michael Yellow Bird, Leah Arcand with Craig Edes from Save Rez Dogs, and Meagan Schmitz with Monique Schultz from Canine Action Project.
They will be taking the time to discuss many aspects of Indigenous animal welfare including the cultural significance of rez dogs and how a rescue can act in culturally appropriate ways.
